Laundry Day with Good Vibes

"Can I use Good Vibes in my laundry?"

We get this question from a customer at least once a week. While the short answer is yes, there are some caveats.

Good Vibes All Purpose Cleaner is a plant based multi surface cleaner that smells amazing and cleans like crazy, so it's no wonder why people want to use it in their laundry. Technically, it does work as a laundry soap.  Some of the ingredients in Good Vibes are often found in powdered laundry detergent, so it will definitely get your clothes clean and have them smelling wonderful.

However, I want you to manage your expectations here.  Good Vibes All Purpose Cleaner does not have the low viscosity that most liquid laundry detergent has. Good Vibes is concentrated but it is a fluid liquid.  We are used to liquid laundry detergents that pour on thick and Good Vibes just doesn’t do that, but, it will get your clothes clean.

Good Vibes also does not lather the way laundry detergent does and that is because Good Vibes is not a detergent, it is a soap based product.  Allow me to explain the difference.  Actual soap is made from plant or animal based fats.  Detergents are chemical compounds that often have enzymes in them to help break up and remove dirt.  Detergents are made to generate a lot of lather.  Soap, however, only lathers well when it is used in its highly concentrated form, otherwise, it lathers briefly, then the bubbles quickly dissolve.  If you've ever used Good Vibes in it's concentrated form then you know it creates a thick lather.  However, once diluted it doesn’t lather very much at all but, that does not affect its cleaning power.  Cleaning products do not have to form a lather in order to get things clean.  The lather is actually for cosmetic purposes and appeals to the human desire to see bubbles as confirmation that’s its working.  Adding Good Vibes to your laundry load will dilute it significantly. While Good Vibes All Purpose Cleaner will clean your garments, please do not expect to sit and watch the bubbles go round and round.

That said, you can use Good Vibes in your laundry as follows:

• Add 1/2 cup to 1 cup of Good Vibes APC to a load. 
• For larger loads, add 1 cup of Good Vibes. 
• You can also use 1/2 cup of Good Vibes to boost your unscented laundry detergent.
• Follow the machine manufacturer's instruction with regard to loading the detergent. 

Good Vibes APC is also very useful as a spot cleaner.  To prevent carpets, rugs and clothes from staining, blot with Good Vibes on a clean cloth in an attempt to lift the stain (blot it, don’t rub it). Rinse thoroughly.

 *Pro Tip: Carry a sample bottle with you everywhere you go and be ready for stains wherever they try to gather.
